Drinking my greens – my daily juice ritual for clear skin and energy!

Over the summer, I felt completely drained and was struggling a lot with my energy levels. A few years ago, I was diagnosed with Fibromyalgia and Chronic Fatigue Syndrome – these days it doesn’t really bother me and I feel very grateful that I can continue life as normal for most of the time. However, I have to pay extra attention to my lifestyle to ensure that I’m keeping myself as healthy as possible – too much stress, not enough sleep and eating unhealthy foods can bring on a flare up of achiness, headaches and severe fatigue if I’m not careful.

Having said that, one thing I found to bring me out of my recent ‘fibro flare’ was making myself a daily green juice. Nothing too extravagant or expensive in terms of juicing or organic vegetables, but the convenience of a green powder mixed with water. I’ve been using Amazing Grass, Green SuperFood, Lemon Lime Energy Drink Powder. I’m a big fan of green powders – I’ve also use Organic Burst Chlorella, Wheatgrass and Spirulina, or buy fresh wheatgrass shots from Live Wheatgrass. Recently, I’ve been using the Amazing Grass powder as I like just how many different things are packed into one scoop – your usual green/blue algaes, but also things like broccoli, alfalfa, acai, rose hips and cherry, to name just a few.

I started to drink the green powder daily, mixed with water, along with some other vitamins – msm sulphur, probiotics, aged garlic and multivitamins, and pretty soon I was feeling like I could take on the world again. My energy levels increased and my skin became clearer. I’ve decided that it’s really important that I keep up with this ‘daily ritual’ to keep myself healthy – when I miss days, I really feel the difference.

A few years ago, I never would have uploaded a #nomakeupselfie to the internet, but I’m feeling much better in my own skin these days and my skin is feeling pretty good too!
